NEXTgeneration Kids Blog on Hold!

We’re currently looking into another solution, so we’re putting the ol’ blog on hold. Keep up with NEXTgeneration Kids Ministry by subscribing to our weekly email here.

@Kids Church: God has a plan for my life.

Have you ever moved to a new house? Moving can be very exciting! But it also can be kinda scary…It wouldn’t be very wise to move to a new home without a plan, or having someone you trust be in charge, would it? This week, you’re going to hear the next chapter in our story about Joe’s life from the Bible – and it’s all about a family moving, and the Person who was in charge of that move!

@Kids Church: God helps me be real with others.

Do you know the difference between real and fake? Sometimes it’s hard to tell. When I was little, my great-grandmother had a very real-looking bowl of fake fruit sitting on her table. It looked delicious, and I always left craving grapes… but it definitely wasn’t for eating.

What about people? Can you tell the difference between someone who’s being real and someone who’s acting fake? Well, Joe had to test his brothers to find out if they were being real – and this week, you’re going to see Joe be real with his brothers… it’s pretty cool. Come to Kids Church this Sunday to find out what happens.

@Kids Church: God helps me forgive others.

Forgiveness is tricky business. It seems like it should be easy, but it’s not… Come to Kids Church on Sunday and find out how Joe handled this tricky business of Forgiveness.

Have you seen our new room? We’re pretty excited about our new Kids Church room. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re in for a treat. More exciting, and alot more comfortable. Come check us out!

@Kids Church: I show my love for God with worship.

Did you know the Bible says that if we don’t worship God, the rocks will worship Him? Don’t believe me? Look it up for yourself in Luke 19:40. Jesus said it. This week, we’re talking about worship… what it looks like, and why we do it…

Most people think that worship means music. But not all music is worship – and not all worship is in music… Let’s break out of the box and just show God how cool we think He is in any way we can…

@Kids Church: God uses hard times to help us be more like Him.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Most of us think about what we will become, as a job… a veterinarian, police officer, teacher… maybe president? But most of us don’t think about the kind of person we’ll be when we grow up. Will you be generous? Greedy? Patient? Selfish? Loving? Angry? What words will people use to describe you?

This week, we’ll talk about what Joseph thought he might become, and what he became when he trusted God…

Messy Games Night!

Join us Friday, August 22nd, 7-8:30pm at Paramount School Park in Shoreline ( 155th St. & 8th Ave. NE) for a night of messy games. You don’t want to miss this! Click here for more information.

@Kids Church: I can share what God has given me.

Last Sunday, we learned how Joe wisely used the gifts God had given him. I’m pretty impressed with him – how about you? But even more, I’m impressed with how God gave Egypt enough that they could share with other countries in the 7 years of famine… This week, we’ll hear about another powerful way Joe shared what God had given him. Don’t miss it.

@Kids Church: I must use God’s gifts wisely.

What if you were trapped on a desert island, and you had no hope of rescue. Your food supply is pretty decent: you’ve got lots of food with you, but you can’t find any food that grows on the island.

Would you feast on what you have? Or would you use only what you need right now, and save the rest for later, when you need it then?

Everybody knows that using only what you need now, and saving the rest for later, would be the wisest choice. That’s the only way you could guarantee for survival. Joseph had similar thoughts… and maybe we will never have to worry about famine in our lifetime, but we still need to consider how we use the things God gives us…

This Week: Ice Cream Sunday! Finally, we get to celebrate reaching our goal of $500 to buy a dairy cow for a poor family. Join us for an awesome day.

@Kids Church: I can ask other Christians for help.

Every time we ask a person a question, they give us an answer… But what determines if that answer is right or wrong?

The Bible tells us truth – so if someone’s answer doesn’t line up with the Bible, their answer is wrong… So that makes the kind of people we go to for help more important, doesn’t it? When you need help – no matter how big or how small the challenge – asking a Christian is always a wise choice, and that means you’re more likely to end up with the right answer. Join us Sunday to see how Pharaoh asked a believer for help, and got the right answer…
